Nature Biotechnology, July 2008 contains two articles on the standardisation of biological parts and devices.
'Setting the standard in synthetic biology' by Adam Arkin, of the University of California, Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, is published in the News and Views section.
'Refinement and standardization of synthetic biological parts and devices' by Barry Canton of MIT, Anna Labno of the University of California, Berkeley and MIT, and Drew Endy of MIT is published under the heading 'Perspective' in the Research section.
