The November 2008 issue of Current Opinion in Biotechnology is a special issue on 'Tissue, Cell and Pathway Engineering'.
The editorial by Michael Betenbaugh (Johns Hopkins) and William Bentley (University of Maryland) is titled "Metabolic engineering in the 21st Century: Meeting global challenges of sustainability and health". The special issue contains over 15 articles on metabolic engineering approaches for energy production, new microbial phenotypes, and a range of health applications.
