SULSA (the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance) has announced its intention to provide sponsorship for Scottish iGEM teams. The competition is open until 30 April 2009.
Yes folks, it's that time of year again - registration for the 2009 iGEM competition opened on 18 February 2009.
Over the past five years the iGEM competition has grown dramatically, and this year is expected to have well over a hundred teams. Funding these teams of undergraduates is no trivial undertaking, but there are limited conventional sources of funding available to support the projects and participation at the Jamboree.
This year, there may be some help at hand for Scottish Universities. They are being invited to apply to SULSA for sponsorship to help finance 2009 iGEM teams.
Up to £10,000 per team is available, and the application deadline is 30 April 2009.
Application forms are available on the SULSA website. Good luck!
