The Royal Academy of Engineering has published a report entitled 'Synthetic Biology: Scope, Applications and Implications' that identifies the next steps to build on the UK's position in the field, create a regulatory framework and to explore, with the public, the ethical and societal issues involved.
Several SynBioStandards Network members were part of the working party for this report, including Richard Kitney (Chair), Jane Calvert, Alistair Elfick, Paul Freemont and Jim Haseloff.
